Catch the Vision

As an introduction...

After a long summer filled with fundraisers, ministry projects, serving and ministering to the needs of people, we are exhausted. As we prayerfully contemplate how we can best serve our area and Christ, we are studying each ministry, measuring it against our corporate mission and vision and in the process we will be redirecting our ministry to best serve Johnson County, the surrounding and area and Christ. The demand on the ministry has been overwhelming and we are stressed and hard pressed on all sides. I am reminded of

2 Corinthians 4:8-10 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed? 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

We know our advisory the devil throws projects at us that seem good and relevant to the Kingdom but are so time consuming it prevents us from doing the things God has commissioned us to do at times. All the things Old Mill Ministry does are important to God but we cannot be all things to all people. We must look at why we came to Johnson County, what is our calling, how we are to serve our Lord and Savior and walk in His blessings.

So, we will be sharing what is best called "Catch the Vision" along with our ministry Business Plan and our plan to accomplish what God has called us to do. We will be asking for your commitment and assistance in accomplishing all these things. So, have a seat, sit back and hang on as we share with you the most awesome, God breathed ministry you have ever been a part.

Ministry Description and Vision

In this section of our Ministry Business Plan, we give a clear understanding of our Mission statement, Ministry vision, goals, objectives, brief history of the ministry and what services we provide (including list future services you plan to provide). We are so blessed to be serving the needs here in Johnson County.

We moved to Mountain City with one objective in mind. Create and develop a ministry, whereby people who are living in poverty, depressed, oppressed and suppressed can see the light, can learn Gods truths and be able to break away from the strongholds placed on them, which goes back many generations. Many call these generational curses. We call it a time to rise up, a time to take a strong foothold and stand up against the whiles of the world, fight against this evil spirit and take our rightful place, as joint heir's to the throne, spiritual authorities over the oppressor. It is time for a revival, a time for a renewal of our minds and together we can awake the giant in us, break the spine of the devil, living right here in Johnson County, Northeaster Tennessee and God's Appalachian Mountain people.

Statements of Understanding

Mission Statement

Old Mill Ministries' focus is to be a light by serving and ministering to both the physical and spiritual needs of the people in Eastern Tennessee, the Appalachian Mountains and around the world.

Ministry Vision

God said it was time to share the vision with His people. We have written this document to share with you glimpses of what He has in store for the people of the Southern Appalachian Mountains and it is our hope that you will join us in catching this vision.

God reminded us of Habakkuk 2:2-3

2 The Lord gave me this answer: Write down clearly on tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance. 3 Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed.

Administrative Plan

In order to maintain a solid foundation, it is imperative to have the right people in the right position for the right reasons. We not only have to have a ministry mind but also a business that must be managed as such.

Management

As a small ministry, we do not require much management structure. In preparation for our larger Outreaches like the Christmas Celebration and Back to School Bash, we pull out all the stops to assure everything we do is all in an effort to create a memorable Christ filled and God loving experience. We do have a couple ministries we do that are managed by Patti Clark like the Jail Ministry and Nursing Home Bible Study.

As we grow so will our management practices but until this time, Andy and Lisa manage all activities, programs and activities. We do report to our Board of Directors regarding all projects, budgets, financials, shortcomings and successes.

Accounting & Legal

Our accounting service is managed by Crossroads Tax service. Mary VanDyke, who also serve on our Board of Directors is located in North Carolina and keeps all business at an arms distance by our design because we never want anything that could be construed as anything that is not 100% above board. We also use a third party auditor to review all accounting practices and accountabilities to assure we meet and exceed all IRS laws, rulings and directives.

The Marketing Plan Marketing Strategy

You remember the quote from Field of Dreams "build it and they will come"? We believe as we grow our territories, people will come and be a part of Christian Theatre, Music Lessons and Dance Lessons are done by heavy promotion, working closely with Mailers, Brochures, Community involvement is critical to building this revenue generating side of business.

With any Outreach ministry, we get the word out by invitation, word of mouth, local advertising on radio and the Tomahawk Newspaper for local notification, mass mailers and personal relationship. Our radio ministry continues to grow and our following becomes larger and larger. Our weekly message streams live each Sunday from 4:00 - 4:30pm and as we work with WMCT, we plan to expand our market, bring our message of God's unconditional and unwavering love to a world in pain and suffering. Internet messages, web blogs and social networking has opened up a whole new world to us. We share the word of God literally across the entire United States and even the world. We network with other nations, sharing the love of Christ to all who have an ear. Fase-One Productions is creating info DVD's on our vision of Old Mill Ministries that will be shared with anyone who wants a copy as well as links on the internet.

Time is spent reaching out to other ministries, churches and like minded people by sharing how together we are making a difference, one soul at a time and we invite and encourage them to be a part. We believe it is an essential part of growing other ministries by providing a place for spiritual growth, camp meetings, missionary development and a place for renewing our minds daily to be closer to Christ.

Marketing Goals

Developing marketing goals for a ministry is a difficult one but one that is very important to the health and growth of any business, weather a non-profit ministry or multi-billion dollar corporation, you must have a plan. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Market Analysis

Knowing your market is critical but over the last 4 plus years, it has given us the opportunity to see the need, understand and feel the need for people struggling. So many people do not go to church, yet love the Lord. They walk in condemnation, unworthy to walk into a church. Does this mean our churches have condemned these people or is this, the work of the devil? We don't know but much of our time is spend sharing how much God loves them. If I were to pick one area of weakness in Johnson County, it would have to be the lack of expressing that agape love. We see a community with over 25% sustained poverty and 30% disabled making our area deeply embedded generational poverty.

Only between 20-30% of the total population attends church, leaving over 70% un-churched and oh what a playground this makes for the devils playground. That is over 14,000 people that do not attend church. Our local outreach is brimming full with many wonderful people who need to hear about Gods love. Who need to believe all our sins are covered by the blood of Christ and no matter our past, we are and can be forgiven if we repent and ask.

Also as part of our ministry, we are reaching beyond our local community, attracting people to experience this place currently called the Old Mill Music Park through events and activities promoting the local community through like minded business like Heritage Hall, Barter Theater, Hale Ministries, etc. together we can reach more lives and attract people to our local community.

Marketing Strategy

The market strategy is in two parts one for local outreach and the other to attract others to our wonderful community. Both are serviced immediately by our website at www.oldmillministries.org but we also do some other things outside ecommerce.

Local Community: Very little will change. We will utilize the local radio station and newspaper and continue to add to our database of previous attendees along with referrals. Word of mouth has been the greatest approach to growing our outreach efforts. The other thing we must do is promote additional programs and activities they may be interested in along with newsletters, calling and visiting more often.

Event Activity: By teaming up with Barter Theater, Heritage Hall, Hotels, Bed & Breakfast and groups like Chamber of Commerce, we will be able to co-op advertise. By adding an advertisement and inserts to brochures, pamphlets and handouts, etc. and internet links will give us the benefit of reaching each other's contacts and get the message out about what is happening. Also in doing this we can attract more and more people to our area.

Customer Service

As we grow, we will have a plan to manage our customers or clients but until this time, we will continue to grow accordingly. Follow up calls, letters to visitors, e-letters, snail mail newsletters is critical to getting in front and keeping in front of people.

Implementation of Marketing Strategy

Branding, quality programming and attractive programs will draw people to our area and our ministry and provide a way to serve the needs of our community. Implementation is done through newsletters, informational letters, radio, internet radio, newspaper and flyers. As we grow, so will our market area.
